Reward for information about fatal Southfield hit-and-run up to $5K

James Ruby was struck Nov. 23 on Greenfield Road

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The reward offered for information about a hit-and-run that killed a 78-year-old man in Southfield is up to $5,000.

According to police, James Ruby was crossing to the east side of Greenfield Road south of 11 Mile Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Nov. 23, 2016. The driver of the vehicle, a burgundy sedan with Michigan handicap license plate, stopped briefly but left, police said. The vehicle may have front end damage.

According to police, Ruby died in the hospital three days later.
