Metro Detroit Weather: Overnight lows to dip into 20s

Freezing rain possible Monday night

DETROIT – You'll want to make sure your heater is working late Sunday night and into Monday morning, as it will be mostly cloudy with overnight lows in the low 20s.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Monday will be chilly, again, with afternoon temps in the mid 30s. Skies become overcast, and temps fall to freezing or lower at night with freezing rain possible with the next storm system.

Icy conditions persist early Tuesday morning. Enough warm air arrives wear ice slowly thaws and freezing rain converts to rain, but it remains slick. Later Tuesday, highs reach the 40s with wet conditions.

Behind a cold front, snow is possible late Tuesday night and Wednesday. Highs will be just above 30 degrees, as highways become snowy and slushy, again.

Thursday and Friday will be sunnier but colder. Nighttime and early morning lows will be in the low and middle teens. Daytime highs will be in the middle 20s Thursday and in the low 30s Friday.
