SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 16-year-old girl died Monday from injuries she suffered during a car crash Sunday afternoon on Mound Road in Shelby Township.
Police said this was a one-car accident that injured two 16-year-old girls.

Yesterday at approximately 2 p.m. officers from our department along with Shelby Township Fire personnel responded to a serious injury accident on Mound Road north of 25 Mile Road. Two females both ages 16 sustained injuries in this one car accident. Earlier today one of those females lost her life.
This is an ongoing accident investigation; anyone who may have witnessed this incident is urged to call our Traffic Safety Bureau.
The victims are not being identified at this time.
