Man holds knife to woman's neck during Clinton Township robbery

2 handguns among items stolen from home

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man held a knife up to a woman's neck Monday during a robbery near 15 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue in Clinton Township, police said.

The woman returned home at 7:54 a.m. Monday and found a man had broken into her home.

The man hit the woman on the head and held a knife to her neck before fleeing the scene, police said.

Two handguns and other property were taken from the home, police said.

Clinton Township police responded to the scene, but the man escaped.

Police describe the man as in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall with a slim build and a goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie.

Some of the woman's property was recovered, but not the guns.
