BRUCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 57-year-old woman was killed Wednesday in a head-on crash in Bruce Township, officials announced.
Police said a car crossed the center line on M-53 between Van Dyke and 34 Mile Road and hit a vehicle being driven by a 57-year-old Imlay City woman.
The woman's vehicle was hit head-on. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It's unclear if the driver who hit the woman's car was injured, or how severely.
The intersection was closed while police and firefighters were on scene. It has since been reopened.
It doesn't appear alcohol was a factor in the crash, officials said.
Police said they are waiting on vehicle inspections and medical examiner results. The investigation is continuing, police said.
