Fenton man faces charges after child porn found on computer at GM Warren Tech Center

DETROIT – A Fenton man is accused of possessing child pornography after images were allegedly found on his work computer at General Motors’ Warren Tech Center.

Steven Dale Brown is charged with possessing or accessing child pornography and receiving child pornography.

According to a criminal complaint, a federal search warrant was issued for Brown’s home in Fenton and Brown admitted to authorities that he used the internet to view child pornography.

Brown works at the General Motors Warren Technical Center and he allegedly told authorities that he viewed child pornography at work.

According to the complaint, Brown also told authorities that child pornography is an obsession of his and that he has amassed large collections in the past.

Random scans of General Motors computers were looked at by forensic analysts who found child pornography on Brown’s work computer, according to the complaint. The GM analysts contacted the FBI, whose report showed 244 images of child pornography, the complaint said.

Brown was convicted Nov. 5, 2007, in Genesee County for second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13 years old.
