Police said they tried to stop Wilson, but he fled the scene. A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen Tuesday during a home invasion in another city.

Police chased the car until it crashed while the driver was trying to exit the freeway into a rest stop.

Wilson suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, police said. There were no other injuries in the chase or crash.

Wilson was charged with receiving and concealing a stolen car, third-degree fleeing a police officer and operating a vehicle with a suspended, revoked or denied license.

He's being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court March 9 for a probable-cause hearing.
