DETROIT – A fire at an apartment building near Burt Road and West Chicago Street on Detroit's west side has claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl, police said.
Police said the girl's uncle and others in the building attempted to rescue the girl, who was taking a nap in one of the bedrooms.
Arson investigators have been called to the scene.
