MSP: Chase beginning in Washtenaw County ends in crash on Detroit's west side

DETROIT – Michigan State Police were led on a chase stemming from an area in Washtenaw County to Detroit early Saturday morning, police said.

According to MSP, the suspect involved allegedly stole a vehicle and fired shots in the process. The suspect then drove the stolen vehicle toward Detroit before crashing into a parked car near Joy and Burnette roads, police said.

The chase lasted around 20 minutes.

The suspect involved was not injured in the crash, and no other injuries were reported.

Police are investigating.
