Driver lies about identity twice after being pulled over for driving 91 mph on M-59, police say

Man arrested for lying about identity to police officer

A driver was arrested Wednesday after police said he lied about his identity multiple times during a traffic stop.

Police said the driver was stopped on M-59 near Ryan Road for driving 91 mph. He didn't have his driver's license, so he gave the officer a name and birthday.

The officer searched the information and found no record of the person.

The driver then gave police a different first name and a different birthday. Police said that information brought up a photo of a person who didn't look like the driver.

The man was arrested and fingerprinted. Officers used the fingerprints to find his correct name.

Police said the man had an outstanding warrant and is charged with operator's license never acquired, giving false information to a police officer and speeding.
