ROMULUS, Mich. – A 5-year-old girl was taken Thursday morning during a home invasion by her biological father who does not have custodial rights, Romulus police said.Â
UPDATE: The child has been found safe at a house on White Street in Lincoln Park. The father is in custody.

The abduction happened early Thursday morning. Police were looking for a silver 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Â
The girl was considered "missing endangered" and Romulus police they were working on issuing an Endangered Missing Advisory.Â
Michigan's Endangered Missing Advisory is a notice sent to broadcast and print media in the geographic area of the incident, but unlike an AMBER Alert, this advisory does not utilize the Emergency Alert System to interrupt broadcasting and it will not be sent to mobile devices as a WEA.
