PONTIAC, Mich. – A 20-month-old Pontiac girl has died and investigations are underway to determine how it happened.
Police in Pontiac said deputies responded to the emergency room at McLaren Hospital – Oakland in regard to a toddler who reportedly fell down a flight of stairs. Officers spoke with the victim’s mother, who stated that her boyfriend was watching her daughter at the time of the fall.

The mother said she came home when her boyfriend called her and told her that the toddler had fallen. When she arrived at the house, she found her boyfriend attempting to administer CPR, police said.
The mother brought the child to the hospital. The victim was transferred to another hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities spoke to the mother’s 24-year-old boyfriend and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
The Oakland County Sheriff's office said investigations are ongoing.
