Troy police rescue woodchuck injured in crash on Stephenson Highway
Woody capable of chucking wood at same rate as most woodchucks
TROY, Mich. – Police questioned a woodchuck that was rescued after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Troy about the amount of wood he can chuck.
Afternoon shift officers responded to a crash at Stephenson Highway and Rochester Road where they found the woodchuck cowering under a car after it had been struck during the crash.
The animal, identified as Woody, was lured out from under the vehicle using "some inventive techniques" and was secured in a crate.
One of the officers took him home overnight and turned him over to a local wildlife rehab Thursday to begin recovery.
In regards to the interrogation, Woody said he can chuck as much wood as a woodchuck can chuck.
