GROSSE POINTE, Mich. – Police in Grosse Pointe Farms have arrested a man that may be tied to a string of break-ins in the Grosse Pointe area Sunday.

Authorities responded to a call of a break-in Sunday morning in the 400 block of Lothrop in Grosse Pointe Farms. Police said a woman was sitting on her couch around 4 a.m. when she heard a noise from the back of her home. When she went to investigate the noise, she saw a man closing the window and leaving her.

Last week, an armed man entered a home in the 19000 block of Raymond Street and sexually assaulted a woman.

According to police, a similar break-in at a home in the 700 block of Washington Road Saturday occurred just one week before the sexual assault incident.

The man in the first incident was described by authorities as white and tall with a thin build.

Police are urging residents in the area to keep their doors and windows locked and to notify police if they notice anything suspicious in the area.
