Families of unsolved homicide victims attend peace rally in Detroit

DETROIT – Community members who have lost loved ones to killers gathered Saturday for a peace rally.

A wall with photos of victims of unsolved homicides was at the rally, showing the faces of lives taken by violence.

“It's time to bring back our community and bring the neighbor to the hood,” said Sandra Hines, from the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality.

Delores Stinson’s son Christopher was killed four years ago at the location the rally was held, at Lasher Road and Grand River Avenue.

“When you kill someone, you murder a whole family,” Stinson said.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan attended the rally unannounced to show his support. He said police Chief James Craig is committed to cold cases.

If you have any information about an unsolved crime, you can call Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP.
