When detectives arrived at the home, they found 35-year-old Harold Smith shot to death.

The preliminary investigation shows the man arrived at his girlfriend's house in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Deputies had been called to the residence within the past year and a half for two prior domestic reports.

Detectives met with the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office and presented their findings. The prosecutor's office said that no charges, if any, will be considered until further investigation is completed.

Detectives have not said how many times she fired or if or anyone else in the house witnessed the domestic dispute.

The woman was brought to the Sheriff's Office as investigators try to figure what made her pull the trigger. She is a concealed pistol license carrier and her 9mm pistol was confiscated.
