Sheriff releases sketch of suspect after Mount Clemens woman attacked during home invasion

Woman says intruder pistol-whipped her, knocking her unconscious

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection to an attack during a home invasion in Mount Clemens.

The Sheriff's Office said a 36-year-old woman who lives at the home said someone broke into her home just after 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 21. She had just returned home from dropping her kids off at school, and her husband had just left for work.

The intruder allegedly pistol-whipped the woman twice, knocking her unconscious.

From the Sheriff's Office:

She indicated that she was in the upstairs portion of the home when she heard the front door of the home being kicked in. She confronted the suspect whom she identified as black male, 20-30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches and having a medium build. She described his clothing as a black Carhartt style coat and black work boots.

The victim reported that the suspect was holding a handgun when she confronted him near the home’s stairway. She said she was struck at least two times in the head with this handgun and was rendered unconscious. When she awoke she noticed that her cellphone was smashed and she drove herself to her parent’s home in the city of Eastpointe. She was then transported to St. John’s Hospital in Detroit for treatment.

The victim’s father returned to the Clinton River address and called the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded and an investigation ensued.

Anyone who can identify the person shown in the sketch needs to contact the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9412.
