Man arrested after stylist assaulted at salon in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – A 46-year-old Oak Park man was arrested Friday after allegedly walking into a hair salon and pushing a stylist in Birmingham.

Police said the man was standing outside Great Clips on East Maple Road and was staring at one of the workers from the window. As the stylist was cutting someone’s hair, the man walked in and approached the woman.

According to police, the man touched her shoulder and pushed her into her work station.

Employees told police the same man followed one of the workers outside a few weeks ago as she was taking out trash.

The man was arrested for assault and battery, and given a trespass warning for Great Clips.

Police said the man admitted to touching the woman’s shoulder “because he wanted to.”
