Same gunman described in 2 separate robberies

Detroit police are looking for a gunman wanted in connection to two ATM robberies. (WDIV)

DETROIT – One gunman is suspected of two separate ATM robberies during a 12-hour period May 28 in Detroit. 

A man was robbed about 9:30 a.m. that morning at the Comerica Bank on Meyers Road near McNichols Road. Police said he was walking to his vehicle parked at the curb when the gunman approached him. 

Police describe the gunman as a black man in his 40s, standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a fisherman's hat, a striped shirt and dark-colored shorts.

About 12 hours later, a second person was robbed by a gunman with the same description. A woman was withdrawing money when the gunman walked up from behind her vehicle and took the money out of the ATM before walking away.

That second robbery was about 9:30 p.m. at the Bank of America at 8 Mile Road and Livernois Avenue, which is about 3.5 miles from the Comerica Bank on Meyers Road.
