Riverview police search for whoever dropped kittens out of moving car

1 kitten killed by vehicle

RIVERVIEW, Mich. – Police are trying to find the person responsible for dropping kittens out of a moving vehicle Friday in Riverview.

An 18-year woman driving on King Road at Grange Road at 4:30 p.m. noticed the car in front of her traveling under the speed limit. She then saw a hand poke out a window and start dropping kittens.

One kitten was caught under the car and killed, but two others scampered into a wooded area. The woman freaked out and pulled over, traumatized by the ordeal, her mother said.

Employees and customers at Puppy Love Grooming, just a few feet from where the incident happened, were shocked.

“How could someone do that? They're helpless,” said Christine Gall of Puppy Love.

A witness said the kittens were dropped from a blue car. It possibly was a 1990s Lincoln Town Car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Riverview police at 734-281-4222.
