DETROIT – A wild brawl on a DDOT bus was broadcast live Monday morning on Facebook.
A man and woman were arguing about relationships on bus 53, the “Woodward bus,” when things escalated.
The bus driver stepped off the bus to call police as the passengers fought. The man pushed the woman and pulled her to the floor of the bus.
"She didn't spit on him until he hit her a couple of times,” said Philip Ross, the man who recorded the fight.
After the brawl, the woman sat down and lit a cigarette. She waited for transit police, and filed a report with them.
Transit police are going to download security footage from the bus in hopes of identifying the man involved.
Ross said he rides the bus every day, and he has seen a lot on the Woodward route, but never a fight. Transit police monitor the route closely because of how far it goes and how many people ride it.
