Detroit's primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017


DETROIT – Primary elections for key city positions, including mayor, clerk and City Council, are Aug. 8, 2017.

To educate voters, WDIV/ClickOnDetroit.com partnered with Wayne State University's Citizen Detroit program to provide candidate statements in the city's contested primaries. Follow the links below to watch the statements. Some candidates did not respond to CitizenDetroit, and those missing statements are noted.

Follow the Aug. 8 primary election results live on WDIV/ClickOnDetroit.com after polls close at 8 p.m. Along with the city races, we'll be following primary elections throughout Metro Detroit.
