CLOSE CALL: Vehicle nearly hit by train after ignoring barrier in Poland

A driver and three passengers in Poland narrowly escaped tragedy this week after their car went through a railroad crossing barrier just as a high speed train was approaching. The incident was captured on surveillance video.

The footage shows a Volkswagen plowing through the barrier, appearing to be unaware of it. The vehicle makes it across the tracks just as the train speeds past. A second angle shows that the rear of the car was hit by the speeding train. The four occupants are seen getting out of the vehicle before the driver pulls over.

Police said the driver was a 48-year-old woman who was slapped with a 140-dollar fine.
