Suspected car thief arrested in Florida after stopping to watch eclipse

A suspected car thief was arrested in Kissmmee, Florida, on Monday, August 21, because he stopped to watch the solar eclipse.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s auto theft unit was following Jocsan Feliciano Rosado, 22, who officials say was driving a stolen vehicle. Rosado parked the stolen car in a Harbor Freight parking lot to watch the solar eclipse while wearing a welding helmet, officials said. He was standing next to the car, wearing the welding helmet, and watching the eclipse when officers arrested him, officials said.

“He never saw it coming,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook. “That only happens every 99 years.”
