Missing in Michigan: Detroit man, former boxing champ reported missing by family
Joe Manley suffers from dementia, family says
DETROIT – A 58-year-old Detroit man suffering from dementia has been missing since Thursday night, his family said.
Bilal Sekou, whose boxing name is Joe Manley, has been missing since about 8 p.m. Thursday after he wandered away from a care facility in the 4500 block of Chrysler Drive, which is in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood. His daughter said the family is extremely concerned about his safety.
Sekou is described as able-bodied. He was last seen wearing a white jacket with "Manley" embroidered on it. He is a decorated Army veteran and a former light welterweight boxing champion.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts needs to Detroit police.
