Police searching for vandals after American flags burned at 3 Warren homes

WARREN, Mich. – Police are investigating after American Flags displayed at three Warren homes were found burned last weekend.

The flags were at homes on Jenny Drive and Colpaert Street on the city’s northeast side.

Police received a call about one burned flag and discovered the other destroyed flags while canvassing the neighborhood.

Barbara and Gary Clouse live in the neighborhood, and they find the vandalism disturbing.

“It's disturbing to hear something like that. There's too much happening in our world as is,” Gary, a military veteran, said.

The Clouse family and Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer are now hoping they can catch whoever is responsible for the vandalism.

“If they don't have any respect for the American flag or for men and women fighting for us to keep us safe, then we don't want them here,” Dwyer said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 586-574-4700.
