DETROIT – The sun will shine brightly Saturday (and Sunday). As "Harvey" churns over Texas and Louisiana, Detroit and Southeast Michigan remains dry the entire weekend.

Saturday night will be cooler and chilly, again, with mostly clear skies. Overnight lows will be in the 40s and 50s.
Great weather for hydroplane racing Sunday. It will be mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the upper 70s. Great weather going to and from services and other activities.
The next frontal system brings a chance of scattered showers Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be near 80 degrees Monday and back near 75 degrees Tuesday.
Sunshine dominates the rest of next week's forecast with partly to mostly sunny skies. Wednesday's daytime temps will be in the mid 70s. Highs will be closer to 80 degrees Thursday and Friday.
Hurricane Harvey
Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Southeast Texas Friday night and it is devastating. Maximum sustained winds were 130 mph and remain as hurricane strength much of Saturday.
An immense overabundance of water will be a significant problem for days, even weeks. Storm surge is over 6 feet. Rainfall will be measured in feet, not inches. Many models have rain totals nearing 3 feet by next Wednesday. Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana will become the Gulf of Mexico.
