ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A former Roseville Community Schools girls soccer coach is under investigation for allegedly sexting with current and former students.
The school district said the junior varsity soccer coach was with the team during the spring 2017 team but has since been released.
"The coach is no longer working in any capacity or allowed on school premises, and was instructed to have no further contact with any students. Roseville High School prides itself on providing the best adult leaders in the classroom and in athletics. We expect our staff to uphold the high standards required to work with our students," a statement from the school district reads.
Roseville police said Thursday detectives just launched an investigation into the employee but the alleged sexting has been ongoing for the past several months.
Sources tell Local 4 that three girls said they received lewd Snapchats from the coach.
Witnesses are being interviewed and police are gathering evidence.
"Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation and the ages of the victims the Roseville Police will not comment further on this matter until the conclusion of the investigation," a statement from police reads. "It is possible that the suspect in this matter may have had contact with additional students other than those that have already stepped forward in this matter."
