14-year-old girl hit by 2 cars, killed on Telegraph Road in Southfield

Shammah Hebron hit while crossing Telegraph Road

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A 14-year-old girl was hit by two cars and killed Wednesday on Telegraph Road in Southfield, officials said.

Shammah Hebron was struck on Telegraph Road between 9 Mile and 10 Mile roads, police said. Shammah crossed the road to get to a Burger King restaurant, and on her way back, she was hit by two vehicles.

Shammah's father was at the scene speaking to Southfield police officers.

Police said both drivers stopped at the scene. They were described as "very emotional" after the incident.

Shammah was a ninth-grade high school student.

The southbound lanes of Telegraph Road were blocked off with orange cones and caution tape as police investigated the incident. The road reopened around 7 p.m. Wednesday
