Troy police: Construction worker dies after losing control of portable cutting saw

TROY, Mich. – The Troy Police Department is investigating an apparent accidental death after a construction worker lost control of a portable cutting saw while removing an in-ground pool Wednesday afternoon. 

Police say the worker lost control of the saw and was struck in the neck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released, but police say he is a 39-year-old man from Canton Township.

The incident happened Wednesday at around 7:40 p.m. on the 600 block of Sylvanwood Street in Troy.
