DLECTRICITY - Midtown Detroit, Friday and Saturday

Dlectricity is a light-based art festival throughout Midtown Detroit on Sept. 22-23 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Artists from around the world contributed projects that display outdoors, many projected onto buildings and Detroit landmarks. Family-friendly event. Along with art displays, bars, restaurants and shops in Midtown will be open.

Free admission to Michigan Science Festival for Bat Festival - Saturday 

The Michigan Science Center is free Saturday as part of the Michigan Bat Festival, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The bat festival celebrates the unique role of bats in the Great Lakes ecosystem, and works to dispel the myths surrounding these amazing creatures. The goal of the festival is to teach people about the fascinating world of bats and inspire people to protect the environment. Spend your Saturday at this family-friendly gathering and learn more about these amazing creatures.

Oktoberfest in the D at City Theatre - Saturday

This is an open-air, rain or shine event. 21 and older. Wrap up the summer in style with food, fun and beer for the first Oktoberfest in the D. This unique event, will take place on Hockeytown Cafés outdoor patio, featuring 20+ breweries, delicious culinary selections and music from DJ MiNightOut.

Red Wings preseason game at LCA - Saturday

The first hockey game played at Little Caesar's Arena is a preseason game between the Red Wings and Boston Bruins on Saturday at 7 p.m. 

UniverSoul Circus - Chene Park, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Murals in the Market Opening Reception - 1xRUN Warehouse, Friday 

Mural in the Market's Opening Reception is Friday from 8-11 p.m. at 1550 Winder St. The reception will feature prints from murals painted around Eastern Market, and fine art prints from this year's participating artists. RSVP on Facebook See all Murals in the Market events here
