Eastpointe man bound over for trial on murder charges in Roseville grad party shooting

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A 20-year-old Eastpointe man was bound over for trial Wednesday on murder charges in connection with a deadly shooting at a graduation party in Roseville.

Amer Mongogna faces several charges including murder in the second degree, felony firearm, assault with intent to murder, felony firearm weapons violation, and carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Luke Filary, 18, of Clinton Township, was shot and killed at his cousin's graduation party Aug. 6. Mongogna was taken into custody hours after the shooting. 

Police said a handgun believed to have been used in the incident was recovered from a home in St. Clair Shores.

The graduation party was held at a home near 12 Mile and Hayes roads.

Mongogna was taken into custody hours after the shooting. He was arraigned Aug. 9 and is held with out bond.
