DASHCAM: Homicide suspect killed in shootout with Sacramento police; two officers hit

Police in Sacramento, California released dashcam video of a deadly shootout between officers and a double homicide suspect.

The suspect was killed in the shooting. Two officers were hit.

The footage shows 41-year-old suspect Eric Arnold pulled over in his truck. He gets out and immediately begins firing at police. Officers return fire and Arnold goes down. One officer can be heard saying, "I'm hit."

According to KCRA, the shooting happened on September 7.

The two officers who were hit survived.

The Sacramento Police Department said officers fired 36 rounds at Arnold, hitting him 14 times.

Arnold was wanted in the deaths of 45-year-old Erica Wallace and 17-year-old Kiara Lasalle. Police said both women died from gunshot wounds, and someone had tried to set their bodies on fire. Wallace was Arnold's ex-girlfriend and Lasalle was Wallace's daughter.

The department said they released the video as part of its effort to be transparent with the community.
