Suspected drugged man found passed out in Troy with 4-year-old daughter in vehicle

TROY, Mich. – A man was found Sept. 20 passed out in his vehicle in Troy with a 4-year-old girl in the car, police said.

According to police, the 36-year-old Troy resident was passed out at 12:22 p.m. in his silver 2016 Ford Transit van, which was about to pull away from a daycare facility and into traffic. The man had just picked his daughter up from the daycare facility in the 6600 block of Rochester Road, police said.

A witness was able to put the car in park and wake the man, police said.

Police said the man was unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech. He performed several sobriety evaluations poorly, police said, but he passed a preliminary breath test with a blood alcohol level of 0.0.

He submitted to a blood test at the Troy Police Department, police said.

Police said he was charged with child endangerment and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of narcotics, pending laboratory results.
