Community joins search for Detroit man found in bed with girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter

Kevin Price suspected of sexually assaulting girl

DETROIT – The community is getting involved in the search for a suspected rapist who has been on the run for more than 24 hours.

Kevin Price, 35, is suspected of sexually assaulting his girlfriend's teenage daughter.

The community activist group Detroit 300 made its presence known on the west side of Detroit. Its mission is simple: Check abandoned houses and get the word out about the man being sought by Detroit police.

Price is accused of raping his live-in girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter. The woman came home from work early to find the teen being molested by Price, police said.

"No child should be a victim of what has just happened," said Arthur Edge, of Detroit 300.

More than 24 hours later, Price is still at large.

"Somebody knows where he is right now," Edge said.

So Detroit 300 is hitting the area of Fenkell and Hubbell avenues. Members of the organization are talking to neighbors, making sure they know Price is wanted and what he looks like.

"I have a daughter. A lot of these men and women here have children. So as I stated earlier, I take it personally," Edge said.

The community welcomes the efforts by the group help find the man wanted for the disturbing crime.

"It's a great thing that they're out here," one neighbor said.

It's believed Price is injured. The victim's mother told Local 4 News she grabbed a knife after finding Price in the bed with her daughter.

Detroit 300 wants to limit his days on the run.

Price is considered dangerous. With his injuries from the stabbing and a dog bite, police believe he couldn't get far by himself.

Anyone who knows anything about his whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP.
