Police: Man carjacked after being rear-ended near old Tigers Stadium site in Detroit

DETROIT – A man was carjacked early Saturday near the old Tigers Stadium site in Detroit, police said.

Police said a 51-year-old man was traveling north on Trumbull Avenue at the Fisher Freeway at about 2:40 a.m. when he was bumped from behind by a gold Ford Taurus.

When the victim got out to check for damage, the driver of the Ford announced a carjacking, police said.

The victim's charcoal gray-colored 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was stolen, police said.

Police said the carjacker is described as a black man in his 20s. He was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 190 pounds. He was wearing a white two-toned jacked and dark-colored pants.
