Detroit police investigating after woman sexually assaulted

Police: Woman says 2 men forced her into van

DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating after they say a woman was sexually assaulted Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old woman was riding a bike around 6:21 p.m. in the area of East Milwaukee and Russell in an industrial and commercial area.

The woman said two men in a white van stopped, got out, grabbed her and forced her into the van, police said.

The woman said once in the van, the suspect sexually assaulted her, police said. They then dropped her back off in the same area.

Police said the woman was taken to a hospital.

Wayne State University police arrived at the scene, but the woman is not a student of the university.
