Archdiocese of Detroit holding prayer service for Las Vegas shooting victims


DETROIT – The Archdiocese of Detroit will hold a prayer service Monday for the victims of a deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas. 

More than 50 people were killed and 406 were sent to hospitals when a gunman opened fire on a crowd at a country music festival Sunday night along the Las Vegas strip

The Archdiocese will hold prayer service at 12 p.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Church -- 1234 Washington Boulevard in Detroit.

"The service will offer prayers for those killed and injured, their families, for all those affected, and for an end to such devastating violence in our country and around the world," reads a news release from the Archdiocese. "All are welcome to attend. The prayer service at St. Aloysius will be followed immediately by the church’s 12:15 p.m. Mass. St. Aloysius is one block north of Michigan Avenue and the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel."
