Man running Detroit Free Press Marathon to raise awareness about dementia

DETROIT – Jason Boschan has run marathons on all seven continents as he raises awareness about dementia.

His grandfather, Dr. Louis "Papa" Heyman, died of Alzheimer's.

Boschan founded Run4Papa. What he thought would be a one-year campaign is still going strong five years later.

Members of the group were running the American Home Fitness 5K Saturday, and Boschan will be running the Detroit Free Press Marathon Sunday in honor of Papa.

Papa was a pediatrician who suffered from dementia.

"I feel like my dad is still helping people because Jason has kept [his] legacy going," Boschan's mother, Shelley, said.
