Lori Heath admits to stealing after contents of purse went missing

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A woman was arrested after admitting to stealing several hundred dollars and several credit cards from a family function.

Authorities say that officers responded Sunday afternoon to a larceny report at Friendship Park Event Room on Clarkston Road. The victim was attending a family function when she discovered her wallet was missing from her purse. Under further investigation, she discovered that her money and the contents of her purse were missing.

After speaking with the victim, witnesses, and event staff, officers were provided with surveillance footage of the secured area. Deputies were able to identify Lori Heath as a potential suspect to the theft, and made contact with her. 

According to police, when confronting the suspect with the footage, Heath admitted to taking the wallet and its contents, several hundred dollars in cash, and several credit cards. Deputies were able to return the stolen items to the victim. 

Heath was arrested and was charged with larceny in a building at Oakland County Jail.
