Police looking for missing Dearborn Heights teen who needs medication for mental illnesses

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Police are looking for a 16-year-old girl from Dearborn Heights who disappeared Friday.

Police said Chela Johnson suffers from bipolar disorder and depression, and she has threatened to harm herself in the past. She has not taken her medication in more than a week, police said.

She was last seen at 3 p.m., and she was trying to get to Oak Park or the east side of Detroit, police said.

Police said Chela was last seen wearing a white dress shirt with gray print and light blue jeans. She wears glasses.

She is described as black with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds.
