Police seek public assistance in finding man involved in Frenchtown Twp. stabbing

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A barking dog may have led to a stabbing in Monroe County.

According to authorities, a woman was stabbed about midnight Oct. 22 by with an unknown man after her dog barked at him in the parking lot of Charlotte Arms Apartments. The victim was shoved up against a dumpster and was stabbed once in the stomach with a unidentified sharp object before the suspect fled the scene toward Macomb Street. 

The suspect is described as a black man between 30 and 40 years-old, between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches with long dark dreadlocks.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for her wound and released. 

Anyone with home surveillance footage from the area or information regarding the case is asked to contact the Michigan State Police at 734-242-3500.
