DETROIT – A Detroit man said he is looking forward to a fresh start after winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery's Hot Fortune instant game.

The man, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at Beebe's Market, located at 7250 West Lafayette Avenue in Detroit.

"I stopped in to buy some Lottery tickets and saw one Hot Fortune ticket sitting by itself behind the counter, so I bought it," he said. "I took it home and set it aside and scratched it later that night.

"When I got around to scratching it off and saw that I'd won $100,000, I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance."

He visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. With his winnings, he said he plans to buy a new vehicle and share the rest with his family.

"The last couple years have been really tough," he said. "It's been a struggle. Winning this feels real good and will help me catch up on my bills and start fresh."
