Bloomfield Township police seek automobile larceny suspect

Man is believed to be involved in multiple converter thefts

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for several automobile larcenies.

A catalytic converter was stolen from a 2001 Ford Econoline van at approximately 1 a.m. on Oct. 25. Surveillance footage shows a silver Dodge Caliber parked next to the van in the DRYmedic lot located at 795 Industrial Court. The suspect exited his vehicle and proceeded to crawl under the van, where he then removed its catalytic converter.

The suspect is described as a white man with a heavy build, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing dark clothing.

The same suspect and vehicle are also believed to be responsible for recent converter thefts at the Franklin Road Church of Christ and Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
