DETROIT – A 40-year-old man surrendered Sunday after shooting an 18-year-old man and then barricading himself inside a Detroit home, police said.
The victim went to the home in the 9200 block of Savery Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. looking for his mother. While at the home, he got in an argument with the older man. The man came to a window with a shotgun and shot the victim in the neck and face, police said.

The victim called 911, and the shooter barricaded himself in the home for about two hours before he surrendered peacefully, police said. Police recovered the shotgun.
Police said the victim's mother was not at the home. The victim is in serious condition.
