Person armed with firearm rings home's doorbell, Detroit police say

Police seek help identifying 2 people

DETROIT – Detroit police are asking for the public's help after a person armed with a firearm rang the doorbell at a home early Saturday.

A man walked onto a porch of a residence and rang the doorbell at 1:34 a.m. in the 20200 block of Asbury Park.

Police said he was captured on camera holding a firearm while waiting for a response.

After a few seconds, the man attempted to cover his face with his jacket then ran off the porch, where another male suspect wearing dark clothing awaited him, police said. The two fled towards Trojan Street on foot.

Police said the complainant did not know who the two men were.

The first man was described by police as a black male wearing a bubble coat and dark jeans, and was armed. The second man was described as a black male wearing all black.
