18-year-old Birmingham woman arrested on charges of stealing dusters from Staples, huffing outside

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An 18-year-old Birmingham woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing duster cans and huffing them in the Staples parking lot on Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Township.

Abigail Huston was charged with retail fraud, consumption of a prohibited chemical agent and resisting an officer.

According to police, Huston stole eight cans of electronics duster between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. A store employee told police she was later seen huffing the contents outside the store.

Police said she resisted arrest by pulling her arms away, but she was quickly handcuffed without injury to her or officers.

Huston was taken to the hospital and was cleared for incarceration. 

Huston was arraigned Wednesday and given a $5,000 bond, 10 percent cash or surety.
