Judge strikes down ballot proposals loosening restrictions on marijuana dispensaries in Detroit

Proposals were voter-approved

DETROIT – A Wayne County judge overturned a marijuana ballot proposal and part of another proposal Friday.

The voter-approved ballot proposals pertain to zoning of marijuana dispensaries in the city. The judge said that zoning can't be done by ballot initiative and thus, the language in the proposals is illegal and should not stand.
