1 man dead after shooting on Detroit's west side

Man in his 20s shot and killed

DETROIT – A man in his 20s was shot and killed Tuesday morning on Detroit's west side.

The shooting happened in the 6200 block of Penrod Street at 1:47 a.m.

The victim was shot in the shoulder, knocked on an unidentified homeowner's door and said told the homeowner he was shot. The victim then removed his sweatshirt, collapsed and fell. 

He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A possible motive or suspect description is unknown at this time.
