Royal Oak officials choose designer for new downtown park

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – City officials have picked a company to design a new park for Royal Oak.

The new 2.2-acre downtown park will be constructed near the Farmers Market and public library. MKSK Studios, a Detroit-based firm, will design the park.

The construction is part of the city's $60 million civic center project that includes building a new police station and city hall.

Construction for both buildings is expected to be completed sometime next year.
